Vintage French Seam Binding
The rolls of seam binding found on this page are all vintage store stock, made in France, and date from the early 20th century. We obtained them from a source in Belgium, where they were recovered from an old shop. They're available in a rainbow of delicious colors!.
Fabric content isn't noted on the spools (as was common back then), but it is either cotton or a cotton/rayon blend. Each has an edging which has a lovely sheen to it. The rolls have been secured with a pin by the manufacturer and each measures 5 metres (about 5 yards, 16 inches). Each is complete & unused.
Most of the paper spools are blank. A few of the blue ones have a printed spool which reads: "Cache Couture / Extra / Fin Solide / Lavable, Résiste a la Lumiére. 5 Met. Garantis." (Cache Couture / Extra / Fine Solid / Washable & Light-Resistant / 5 Metres, Guaranteed.)

This is a full spool of French seam binding, containing 5 metres (5 yards, 16 inches).
The color is a rich yellow, edged in a slightly brighter shade. Very slight soiling to first layer, else in as new condition on the spool. $12.00 for the 5-meter roll. Only one available!

French Seam Binding - Leafy Green
This is a full spool of French seam binding, containing 5 metres (5 yards, 16 inches).
The color is a somewhat desaturated green with some yellowish tones, edged in a darker green. In new condition, on the original paper spool. We have 2 spools available at $12.00 each.

Monamour Lingerie Strap Ribbon
This is a charming tubular ribbon, meant for use as lingerie straps. It's a pretty baby blue, and measures approximately 3/8" inch wide. It's a very soft, satin rayon.
Just $5 per yard.

The rolls below were not purchased with the ones above, and they are have much less age than those. These are incomplete rolls, and, like the other seam bindings on this page, they're all made in France.

Sky Blue Extra-Fort Rayon Seam Binding
A roll of sunny blue seam binding, made of rayon. It is "extra-fort" (extra strong).Some pin holes/bumps where it was originally secured with a pin. Originally 5 meters in length, it now contains 4 meters (just over 4 yards). $5 for the entire spool.
