Horseshoe & Flowers Needlebook
Such a pretty - and old! - little needlebook. It's covered in pale blue fabric (silk, I believe), embroidered with a horsehoe and roses, and edged in a pretty cream trim which is tied at a bow at the spine.
The interior pages are wool, and the edges have been cut by hand in a rough zig-zag pattern. Inside the cover, a paper lining separates the cover from the pages.
It is showing its age, with staining to the front cover, several tiny holes & fading to the blue fabric covering, some holes & wear to pages.
Please click the small image at left, for a complete view, including the inside.
A unique addition to your collection, for $16.

Arts and Crafts Era Linen Needlebook
Oh, this is such a special item. It's an arts-and-crafts era needlebook. The cover is made with (I think) linen, and it is stitched around the edge with green thread. Flowers are appliqued to the front. They're green, and embroidered in the same green as the edge, as well as a light orange.
The interior pages are wool, and the edges have been cut by hand in a zig-zag pattern (like pinking, without using shears). This piece came from an estate where we purchased many other 1900s-1920s sewing items. It is in lovely condition and appears unused. Please click the small image at left, for a complete view, including the inside.
A unique addition to your collection, for $30.

Gudebrod Bros. Silver Silk Thread
This is the most lovely, silvery silk thread, made by Gudebrod Brothers in the late 19th century. The spool is red, with label on top, and contains quite a lot of thread. (It comes within 1/8" inch of the edge of the spool.) Gudebrod called this "Champion Silk."
The spool measures just shy of an inch tall, and 1 5/8" inches in diameter. Spool shows some wear/small chip, and the label is somewhat worn. A few tiny knots in the first foot or so of thread. Else in excellent condition. It is so shiny and feels so wonderful in the hand. Add it to your collection for $8.00.

Empire State - Pin Pyramid
This pin pyramid likely dates from the 1930s; the Empire State Building was completed in 1931. It has a great illustration of the then world's tallest skyscraper on the bottom. These pins are brass, and made by Prym's in the USA.
The wooden holder is turned, with a ribbed design, and stained dark. Inside is a paper strip of pins; it is about 75% full.
In very good condition, with some wear at the bottom.

Noesting Economy Pin Pyramid
This pin pyramid likely dates from the 1950s or later; the Noesting company reportedly began making their Noesting pins in 1954. (The company had been in business since before WWI.)
The pins are in a silver holder printed in silver & blue. (The pink color in the photo is just the photo background reflected in the silver!) This package is completely full, unused.
In very good condition, with some very slight wear to packaging.

Purple Chenille Flower Pincushion
Ah, this is the most wonderful pincushion! It is a gorgeous, deeply colored, purple chenille, in the shape of a flower. The bottom of it is a mossy brownish-green velvet. Green and yellow embroidery floss is used, and there is a little loop of green floss so it can be hung.
When I acquired this, it was stuck with a multitude of pins of all types, and I've left them in for you. It measures approximately 3 1/2" inches in diameter, and about 3/4" inch tall.
(Take a look at the little pink floral pin cushion below as well; they came to me together.)
Add this purple pincushon to your collection for only $9.

Pink Floral Pincushion
What a pretty place for your pins! The top of this little pincushion is a pale pink, printed with pink and blue flowers; the bottom is a shiny, pale lavender. They are embellished with gold-colored embroidery floss, with a big knot in the middle on top.
When I acquired this, it was stuck with a multitude of pin, and I've left them in for you. Most of the pins are straight pins with white heads, but others are here, too.
It's quite small, measuring only 2 1/4" inches in diameter, and about 1 1/8" tall. Perhaps it belonged to a child.
