Swiss Lace from Interlaken
Made in Berner Oberland, Interlaken (Switzerland), this beautiful lace measures 3/8" inch wide, by approximately 3/8" inch wide. On the original card, with tag.
The tag reads, on one side, "Heimarbeit (meaning home work or home made) im Berner Oberland Interlaken, " meaning "Home work (or home made) from Berner Oberland Interlaken." The other side says, "Verein Fur Heimarbeit Berner Oberland," which I think is saying it was made for a guild of home workers. The tag has a stylized antelope on it.
Berner Oberland is a mountainous area in Switzerland, with jagged mountain peaks, lakes and rolling green hills.

Teneriffe Lace Maker, Instructions & Lace
This disc, called the "Proctor Patent Wheel," is dated 1903. It's used to make Teneriffe lace, and is complete with instructions. The instruction sheet is double-sided and also includes examples of the lace that can be made with it. As always, please click the small photo for a larger view.
Along with the wheel & instructions, there's a small piece of Teneriffe lace with it, which has an age spot but is in otherwise very good condition. The instruction sheet is dampstained, has broken into several pieces along fold lines, and has some staining from an ancient piece of cellophane tape. The wheel is in excellent condition. This Edwardian lace making kit is yours for $37.

Dutch Linen Tape - Made in England
These linen tapes are very, very old. Each is wound around a wooden core, and secured with a small pin. The bundle is wrapped with a glossy white label, printed in gold. The label says this is "Dutch Maiden [brand], Linen Tape No. 1, English Make." One of the labels is different, has a crown on it, and reads "Dutch Linen, Made in England."
These have been stored for decades; over the years, the portions tape not protected by the wrapper became darkened. I believe this will soak out. Please click the small photo at left to see a detailed photo. The tape is approximately 3/8" inch wide. I have not unpinned one to measure, but counting the number of folds, each package appears to cards 2.5 to 3 yards of tape.
These are extremely scarce these days! But, we have 9 of them for you at $8 each.

Silk Middy Braid
This lovely silk middy braid is still complete, in its original package. The label is just darling, with an illustration of a boy and girl, with "Silk Middy Braid for Sailor Suits" in decorative printing.
A little wear to packaging; braid is in excellent condition. It's a green color, which the label calls "khaki." The braid is approximately 3/16" inch wide.

Coronation Cord
This very old coronation cord measures approximately 3/16" in width. In very good condition; I noticed a couple loose threads, and a few little dark spots. The cord is handmade, so the width varies slightly throughout. It is a wonderful, creamy white.

Novelty Braid Picot Trim, Size 3
This is a complete 6-yard package of No. 3 picot trim, approximately 3/16" wide. It's still in its cobalt blue wrapper, printed in gold.

Warren's Featheredge Picot Braid, Size 2
Here's a very old package of Featheredge Braid made by Warren's. Five of the original 6 yards remain in the package. Interestingly, a diagram at the top of the wrapper shows the various sizes of this trim that were available. This is size 2, approximately 3/16" inch wide.
Wrapper is torn. Trim is in very good condition with some darkening, mostly at edges of package. Very usable. All 5 yards for $14.00.

Picot Edge Braid, Size 1
We acquired this with the Warren's "Featheredge" picot trim listed above, and though the wrapper is missing, I believe it is also of their manufacture. Given the measurement gauge on the Warren's Wrapper (see above), I belie this is size 1. It measures just barely more than 1/8" inch in width. (It is just slightly smaller in width than the size 2 trim in the package listed jsut above.)
Shows some age darkening in some places. This is a full 6-yard package on the original card, lacking just the wrapper. All 6 yards for $10.00

Picot Edge Braid, Size 0

Novelty Braid #1680
This is a very unusual trim, complete in its original package. The wrapper is brittle, torn and rather hard to read, but on close inspection it says, "Novelty Braid, Dust Proof, Art. 1680. Warranted 6 Yards. The wrapper is blue, printed in gold. The trim measures approximately 3/8" inch wide.

Novelty Braid Dust Proof Turtle Braid
A 4-yard package of turtle braid. The package is printed, "Novelty Braid, Dust Proof." It's a creamy white, and is still in its cobalt blue & silver wrappers. Lovely.

Turtle Braid - 5 yard hank.
This hank of turtle braid originally held 6 yards; 5 yards, 9 inches still remain. The original wrapers (a printed one, and a band) are still present, as is the 30cent price tag! he package is printed, "Novelty Braid." It's a creamy white, and was made in Germany.
The flat pieces, including the picots, measure approximately 1/2" wide by 3/4" in length. They are about 1/4" inch apart. Some areas of age darkening (will likely launder out), else in lovely condition.

Ri-Trim Novelty Fast Dye Trim
This trim is still on its original card, and all 4 yards are still there. It's a cheerful red scallop on a cream-colored lace. Very pretty. The packaging notes that it is "for children's and women's wear." Indeed.

Puritan Imit. Tatted Edging - Navy Blue
This is a complete 3-yard package of Puritan brand Imit. Tatted Edging.
The design is much more elaborate than most of the trims of this type I've seen. It not only has a pretty blue scalloped edge, but the trim is also embroidered with blue dots and Xs . The design is dark navy blue, while the trim itself is an off-white. Made in Germany.
The label has a great graphic of a pilgrim woman and is printed in gold & black. In very good condition, with some wear & light soiling to the label. (There are 2 packages available; one has a tear in the label.) The edging has darkened somewhat with age; you may wish to give it a good, gentle soak.

Puritan Imit. Tatted Edging - Red and Blue
This is a complete 3-yard package of Puritan brand Imit. Tatted Edging.
The design is much more elaborate than most of the trims of this type I've seen. It not only has a pretty red scalloped edge, but the trim is also embroidered with bright blue dots and Xs. The The trim itself is an off-white. Made in Germany.
The label has a great graphic of a pilgrim woman and is printed in gold & black.
In very good condition, with some wear, small tears & light soiling to the label. (There are 2 packages available; one has a torn card.) The edging has darkened somewhat with age; you may wish to give it a good, gentle soak.

Art. 170 Lacy Novelty Braid - 4 yards
This lovely, feminine lace "novelty braid" is a complete 4-yard package. It's made in Germany as is identified as "Art. 170, No. 1." Still in its beautiful cobalt blue and silver package. The trim measures 3/16" inch wide and has picot edges.
In very good condition. There are a few age spots on the exposed lace which I think should soak out. Very usable and sure to add a very special touch to your project.

Asst. 1697 Novelty Braid Sewing Trim - 4-yards
A lovely, narrow "novelty braid" trim made in Germany, complete in its original 4-yard package, printed in cobalt & shimmery silver. The trim is white, with fancy edges. Marked with stock number "Asst. 1697."
In very good condition with a little age toning to the exposed parts. Just 1/4" inch wide, it is very feminine design. And, it is very usable. I believe it is cotton.

Ribbon Leaders Insertion Trim
A package of "lace insertings" made by Ribbon Leaders in Germany. This is a full, 4-yard package, still in its pretty cobalt & gold wrappers. The trim measures 3/16" inch wide.
In very good condition; the outer layers are a bit dusty & may benefit from a gentle soak. Very usable. I believe it is cotton.

Mercerized Tatting Trimming
A package of "Mercerized Tatting Trimming," which is "Dust Proof" and made in Germany. This is a 3-yard package, still in its pretty off-white & gold wrappers.
Trim has darkened, especially the portion which is outside the wrapper. A little soak would make a world of difference. Very dark navy blue, on a natural colored trimming. Quite pretty! A full, unused 3-yard package. Measures approximately 3/8" inch in width.

Nufashond Dark Blue Edging
This is a full 3-yard package of Nufashond edging. It is on its original card, just missing the wrapper. It is a white tape (still bright!), with a crochet-like dark blue edging and measures 3/8" inch wide. Quite lovely.
The cards are a little bent, but the trim is in excellent condition.

Navy Blue Novelty Embroidery Trimming
Here's a full package trim in navy blue which is stitched onto a cream tape. The white wrapper, printed in black, reads, "Novelty Embroidery Trimming - Warranted 3 Yards."
Measures 3/8" inch in width. On the back of the package are detailed washing instructions.
Save for some tearing to some of the wrappers, and, as is often the case, some age-related toning to the cream (easily resolved with a good soak), these are in excellent condition. Ready for your projects or as a charming display.

Warren's Green & White Loop Trim
This is a complete 2 1/2-yard package of Warren's Trim. It's quite unusual, with a thick green thread stitched onto the white trim in a squiggle & loop pattern. Including the loops, it's just shy of 1/2" wide.
The package is complete. There are several small soiled spots on the trim (on the back of the package) where the cellophane was broken. I would think they'd come out with a good soak. The package is yours for just $6.00

Here's a full package of red trim, embroidered with a diamond design in white. The paper wrapper, printed in gold, reads "Feather Stitched Braid - Superior Quality. Warranted 6 Yards. Germany." The patent number (888686) on the packaging dates to 1907, so this dates to sometime after that.

Hope White & Red Diamond Featherstitch Braid Trim
Here's a package of red trim; it's white, with stylized red diamonds. Very pretty! The paper wrapper, printed in blue with a sweet floral embellishment reads "Featherstitch Braid - Warranted 6 Yards." There's a red, white, and green sticker that says "Hope Brand."
Measures 3/8" inch in width. Package has a few tears with one end torn off. I measured 5 yards, 30 inches - so it's just a few inches shy of a complete package. It is in bright, beautiful condition - as new.

Regal White Featherstitch Braid
Oh, this one is just so lovely! It is a complete 3-yard package of Regal Featherstitch braid. The off-white trim has been embroidered in white, with a beautiful, detailed design.
It is made in Germany, and is in new condition, with a few age spots (probably will soak out) & just a little wear to the pretty pink label.

1911 Feather Stitch Braid - 4 yard package
This "Feather Stitch Braid" was patented April 21, 1911. It is stil in its original white and blue wrapper. Oh, this one is just so lovely! It is a complete 4-yard package of The ecru (I think) trim has been embroidered with a beautiful, detailed design.
Trim shows a lot of aging where it is exposed on the front of the package, and there are also many age spots on the front of the wrapper. Price reflects condition.

Fairy Braid Trim
This trimming is still in its original paper label. The label, printed in gold on blue, reads, "Fairy Braid" in an elaborate typeface, and states that there are "Warranted 6 Yards" of trim in the package, and that it's of "Extra Fine Quality." Made in Germany.
The trim is in very good, unused collection, while the label shows some soiling.
This pretty braid is 1/4" inch wide. It's embroidered in blue, on a natural white background.

Featherstitch Braid Trim
This trimming is still in its original paper label. The label, printed in gold on cobalt blue, reads, "-rstitch Braid" in an elaborate typeface, and states that there are "Warranted 6 Yards, Full Meas." of trim in the package" Made in Germany. Though some of the label is missing, I believe it would have read "Featherstitch Braid," which was a well-known trade name around 1900.
The trim is in very good, unused collection. You may wish to give it a good soak. I believe there are 5 yards remaining in the package.
This pretty braid is 3/8" inch wide. A pretty blue floral design is embroidered upon it.

Edgerei Pink, Black & Cream Bias / Edging
This is a complete 3-yard package of "Edgerei Scalloping." It isn't what I would think of as scalloped, but is a lovely creamy bias tape, embroidered at the edge in pink & black. Butterfly Bias Trimming
This is a complete 3-yard package of Butterfly brand Bias Trimming. The package is just beautiful; it has an illustration of butterflies.
The trim is white, edge in pale lavender. In good condition, but needs laundering, as the parts not covered by the label have darkened. The label is rather fragile. Would make a charming display piece!

Barton's Novelty Bias Binding - Green & Cream
This is a full 3-yard package of Barton's Novelty Bias Binding. It is on its original card, just missing the wrapper. Barton's Novelty Bias Binding - Green & Pink
This is a full 3-yard package of Barton's Novelty Bias Binding. It is on its original (bent) card, just missing the wrapper. It is a light, sagey green, embroidered with pink & white. Matilda's Glass Beaded Dress Trim
Three pieces of very old dress trim made with glass beads. One piece is 17 inches long; the other two measure 13 inches each, for a total of 53 inches.
They were purchased wrapped in a piece of paper that said it was "trim from Matilda's old dress." The paper disintegrated from age. Date is unknown but these seem typical of the 1920s.
Each dangle is made of a bugle bead flanked by 3 seed beads on each end. On the three pieces there are 115 of these dangles (that would be 805 beads all together)!
Each dangle is about 5/8" in length and hangs from a tape that is about 3/16" wide. The tape is a bit worn / frayed in places but is still usable.

Cream Fringe with Deco-Style Embroidery
This beautiful fringe measures approximately 1 1/8" inch in width and has a picot edge. It's embroidered with a deco-style geometric design in pink, green, and lavendar and is edged in pink as well.
Two pieces; the first is 1 yard, 9 inches, and the second measures 16 inches. Both pieces are yours for $11.00.

Bur-Mil Black Rayon Moire
Beautiful 1940s/1950s era ribbon, a healthy 1.5 inches wide, still on the original spool, which still sports the original price of 8 cents! There are 8 yards, 14 inches.
In very good condition, save for a 3/4" inch "bite" out the edge about 1 yard, 34 inches from one end. Looks like a manufacturing glitch. A few pinholes from where the original owner secured the end with a pin.

Emeline - Vintage Trim Fragment
This is an unsual piece of vintage trimming. It's comprised of fourteen design elements, in alternating colors: royal blue, orange, and sort of a latté color. Each is five-sided, and has a swirl cutout through the center. It's backed with a very fine black netting.
Condition is very good. There are a few pulled threads on the light brown piece on the far left end, but that piece is still usable & presentable. A lovely, eye-catching embellishment for a special handbag or item of clothing.
This fragment measures 14 inches long and and is 7/8" inch wide; $6 for all.

Beautifully made navy blue & white woven trim with big white dots marching down the center.
Likley made in the '30s or '40s. Unsure of the fabric content, it has a bit of a sheen.

Lina Trim
Here's a very unusual design: a geometric pattern in overlapping blue, golden-yellow, and green, on a white ground. Has sort of an art deco vibe, I think.
Though the photo doesn't capture this well, it is very shiny & feels wonderful.
Measures 3/4" inch wide. 3 yards available, at $6/yard.

Cupid Gauze Ribbon
Here's a spool of Cupid Cut Edge Ribbon, Gauze De Luxe, Celanese, made by the W.E.R. company in the USA.
Don't know the age, but think it likely from the 1950s. Celanese was a type of acetate introduced in about 1925, as "Artificial Silk;" according to the company website, the word is a combination of the words "cellulose" and "ease.")
This spool originally came from Frederick & Nelson, which for many years was the grand old lady of Seattle department stores. It still has the original price sticker on it. (Just click the image at left for a more or less full-size view.)
The spool originally held 50 yards; some has been used. Given the delicate nature of this ribbon, I didn't want to unwind it to measure it, but I guarantee you'll get at least 20 yards.
This ribbon measures approximately 7/8" wide & wiill be sent to you on the original spool.

Eadie - Wide Embroidered Trim
This is the most amazing trim. It is 2.5" inches of embroidery on 3 inches of backing. The yarn is of unknown fabric content. The creamy white backing, unfinished at edges, I believe is silk.
The colors are a lush deep red, navy blue, and leafy green. The design is very ornate, stylized geometric. The yarn is painstakingly machine embroidered onto, and stitched onto the backing. Very unusual.
The date is hard to pin down. Could be as early as the twenties, but most likely from the 1930s - 1940s.
Very unique with loads of style, it is sure to generate a lot of attention on whatever you use it for.

Royal Swan All Rayon Dress Belting
Two inches wide, this dress belting likely dates from the 1940s. It's on the original spool, and measures 2 yards, 34 inches.
This is a thick, somewhat stiff, ribbed belting, in black. It's still on its spool.

Paragon Cordonnet - Black Rayon/Cotton
This is a black cordonnet, made of "not less than 60%" rayon, and "not more than 40%" cotton. It is still on the original spool; which is about 2/3 full, and contains many, many yards. There's plenty here for your projects.
Because it is mostly rayon, it has a wonderful soft feel to it.
The entire spool of it is yours for just $9.50.
